It's kind of crazy to see the progression of "Alt coins" from 2017 to now.

2017, we had ICOs with whitepapers that promises amazing partnerships and a roadmap that never delivered.

Communities were forged and there are still ppl to this day with #2017Alt in their bio repping for a coin that does nothing and has underperformed almost everything.

2020, was DeFi and other tech, some that had actual functionality but even for the successful protocols the coins still eventually traded down 90% plus and many will never revisit previous ATHs.

You can argue most NFTs were just altcoins with pictures and outside of a few cult communities most are zeros.

This cycle it's just straight up memecoins, you know the coin does nothing and that doesn't matter. Community and attention drive price, pure supply and demand.
