7 Ways to Make Today a Better Day:
1. Look for the good.
2. Appreciate the little things.
3. Help someone.
4. Tell someone they matter.
5. Give more than you take.
6. Speak words of encouragement and hope (to yourself and others).
7. Believe the best is yet to come.
Today, instead of focusing on the challenge in front of you... choose to look for the opportunity. Ask yourself what this circumstance is teaching you. Identify how you can grow stronger and wiser from it. You can live in fear or move forward with faith and positive actions.
This year, as I was speaking to the University of Texas Football team during training camp, I shared with them a story of my wife who was being really negative until she started telling herself words of affirmation and encouragement. She started telling herself, I AM strong. I AM powerful. I AM courageous. After speaking I went down to the weight room and the strength coach had the whole team in a circle. He yelled I AM! They yelled back, “My Brothers Keeper”! It was the most powerful moment I’ve had speaking with a team. The night before they played Alabama I texted Steve Sarkisian and told him that I could tell they were going to be a different team this year and beat Alabama. They did!
