Happy 19th Birthday to BABYMONSTER's incredibly beautiful and extremely talented Singer, Rapper, Songwriter, Composer & Dancer, the One & Only RAMI! 👏🐬🎂🥳🎉🌟👑 🩵
#RAMI became famous as the Main Vocalist and Dancer of the hugely popular, chart-topping, record-breaking, history-making Superstar Group BABYMONSTER. RAMI has an amazing mezzo soprano voice with exceptional control rather than just pure volume. Lee Mu-jin famously described her on Lee Mujin Service as having a “Celine Dion vibe” because of her emotional depth and control, despite her young age. She's earned the title of BABYMONSTER's vocal powerhouse, topping vocal skill rankings for 11 straight weeks early in her career. She claims the high notes, intricate runs, and layered harmonies on songs like “Batter Up” and “Stuck In The Middle,” turning in clean, commanding performances that underline just how natural her talent is. Inspired by BLACKPINK's Rosé, her senior at YG, RAMI's voice mixes emotive power with versatility, earning praise for live covers, sharp rap verses and solo stages. RAMI is also a professional dancer who caught fans’ attention early in pre-debut videos. Her love of sports shows through in the athletic sharpness she brings to the stage. She excels in climbing, skiing, badminton, and skating. Beyond performing, she’s a gifted songwriter and composer who contributed lyrics, composition, and choreography to the 2NE1 mash-up and “Pick Up Your Feelings” stages. She’s been a major part of BABYMONSTER’s swift global rise to fame.
RAMI started out at age 2 as a child model in toy and clothing ads. She auditioned for YG at just 11 years old with covers of Owl City’s “Good Time” and Red Velvet’s “Look,” and joined the company as a trainee in August 2018. She originally went by the stage name of Haram (하람) before switching to RAMI ahead of the group’s debut. She also entered Hanlim Arts High School’s Department of Applied Music as its top student, balancing school with her training. RAMI was the first BABYMONSTER member revealed, appearing officially on January 12, 2023, and later ranked #4 in the final lineup. The group was put together by YG Entertainment through the 2023 reality program Last Evaluation. Their pre-debut single “Dream” dropped on YouTube on May 14, 2023, and went straight to #1 on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart. Their YouTube channel then hit 1 million subscribers in 52 days and 2 million in 129 days, making them the fastest K-pop girl group to reach those marks. RAMI made her official debut with BABYMONSTER on November 27, 2023, on the pre-release single “Batter Up,” helping set the tone for the group’s high-energy “monster” image. The “Batter Up” music video pulled in 22.59 million views in its first 24 hours, the highest opening day for any K-pop debut MV, and became the fastest debut MV to hit 100 million views, doing so just 18 days after release. It surpassed 10 million Spotify streams in just 10 days, the fastest pace for any rookie K-pop girl group. Their 2nd pre-release single, “Stuck in the Middle,” followed on February 1, 2024. On April 1, 2024, BABYMONSTER dropped their first EP, BabyMons7er, which racked up over 460,000 pre-orders and entered the Circle Album Chart at No. 3. The EP includes “Batter Up,” “Stuck in the Middle,” Charlie Puth’s gifted track “Like That,” and the title track “Sheesh,” which peaked at No. 10 on the Circle Digital Chart and posted the highest Global Spotify entry for a K-pop girl group that year, debuting at No. 69 with 1.76 million streams.
BABYMONSTER’s first studio album, 'DRIP', arrived on November 1, 2024, following the digital single “Forever” on July 1. The album was led by the singles “Clik Clak” and “Drip,” the latter composed by G-Dragon, while WINNER’s Mino co-wrote the B-side “Really Like You.” DRIP set a new career high for the group with 820,000 orders in its first week, nearly double the sales of BabyMons7er. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 49, the title track “Drip” debuted at No. 30 on the Billboard Global 200 and became their second top-ten hit on the Circle Digital Chart, and the album reached a new peak of No. 26 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. On January 25–26, 2025, Babymonster held a two-day concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, the onset to their first world tour, 'Hello Monsters', drawing 20,000 fans, and became the fastest female act to headline the venue in just 8 months after their debut. RAMI participated in the early North American tour at Newark on February 28 and LA/Inglewood on March 2, 2025, and also the Japan leg. YG announced RAMI's hiatus on May 9, 2025. She was absent from both the Asia and later North America portions of the tour due to health reasons. Since then, the focus has stayed on her health and rest, with limited public visibility.
RAMI has won several awards with BABYMONSTER, including Rookie of the Year for “Batter Up” at the 2024 Circle Chart Awards, Best Rookie Artist at the 2024 Mubeat Awards, Best Female Rookie (Vietnam) at the 2024 Brand of the Year Awards, and Rookie Artist of the Year at the 2025 Golden Disc Awards. The group also took home the Fans’ Choice Female Top 10 Award at the 2024 MAMA Awards and the K-Pop World Choice Award for Group at the 2025 Seoul Music Awards.
BABYMONSTER has attracted numerous endorsements aimed at a younger audience. In February 2024, RAMI and the group became presenters for Pepsi across the Asia-Pacific and the faces of LG Household & Health Care’s cosmeceutical brand CNP Laboratory for the Japanese beauty market. In April they became global partners of Adidas and ambassadors for its Z.N.E. sports collection. They have also served as endorsement models for Adidas’ Moon Boot collaboration and the contact-lens brand a-eye, and later became brand ambassadors for Banila Co. and Good Day Latte. They have also collaborated with PUBG Mobile, Google Pixel in Japan, McDonald’s in Hong Kong, and Oreo in Southeast Asia.
RAMI has been actively involved in charity work. In July 2024, BABYMONSTER and the Muju YG Foundation set up a support fund through Naver’s Happy Bean to help fight child hunger and support children with disabilities. The following year, the foundation and the group partnered with Loving Hands, raising ₩9.9 million to provide winter coats for 85 children and adolescents.
What makes RAMI so special is the combination of talent and character. She’s competitive and into detail, yet fans describe her as thoughtful and grounded. Even while on an extended health hiatus, the foundation she built, including her amazing voice, charismatic stage presence and early impact, remains the reason so many see her as one of the most complete and promising main vocalists of her generation.
