Went for dinner tonight, they don't split bills. My partner paid for it all, ended up being about $79 each. I watched one of the people we were with doing his bank transfer. He put $70 in the amount to be paid then wrote in the description "$79.00".

He had $15000 in his account.

Now I'm not saying don't try and re-use and give things a second life. Its better than just throwing stuff in the trash, but its not the solution some say it is. Re-use just hides the problem for later.

Ok, lets talk about how giving items a "second life" is not a solution for plastic waste. 🧵
Lets start with a fairly common example, reusing a plastic bottle as a pot for a plant.

Are you beginning to see the problem? We cannot pitch DIY craft reuse as a solution when the materials lifespan is 5 times that of a human. It would take 15 generations of handing down to actually have "solved" that particular plastic bottle.
