@PrisonMatt_ Matt LaFleur can’t even prepare his team for the second half of a game, but we’re supposed to believe he’s prepared for three different QBs? 😂
@DaBearsclips Brutal timing, especially for this matchup, but this is the right call.
Toe injuries can linger if you keep pushing them. I’d rather miss Monangai for one game, even Green Bay, than risk losing the burst and power that make him effective for the next month.
@CHGO_Bears Ditka helped define the standard this franchise is still measured against.
“Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.”
Rest easy, Coach. 🐻⬇️
Mike Ditka has passed away at 86.
Hall of Fame player. Super Bowl-winning coach. One of the most iconic figures in Bears history.
Few people have ever represented Chicago football quite like Coach Ditka.
Rest easy, Coach.
Bear Down forever. 🐻⬇️
Green Bay has faced 46 third downs this season.
30 required at least 6 yards.
16 required 10 or more.
Meanwhile, Chicago has allowed just 5 conversions on 29 third downs over its last three games.
If the Bears win on early downs Sunday, Dennis Allen gets to dictate the terms. That’s a matchup I’ll be watching.
Turf toe is especially concerning for a back like Kyle Monangai, whose game relies on balance, powerful cuts and driving through contact.
He reportedly wants to play through it, but the Bears need to think beyond Sunday.
I’d rather have a healthy Monangai long-term than rush him back against Green Bay.
@bearszn@danwiederer The best coaches know when to use outside noise without letting the team become dependent on it.
Ben Johnson clearly wanted them to remember how quickly people were ready to dismiss 2025. Now the challenge is proving last year wasn’t the peak, it was the foundation.
Obviously losing Monangai would hurt.
But don’t sleep on what it could mean for Roschon Johnson.
5 touches. 23 yards against the Jets. Physical runner who’s shown he can handle the dirty work.
If No. 25 has to sit, No. 23 may finally get his shot again.
@BearsEmpire_ Nobody’s arguing the message. The messenger is the problem. Acho has made a career out of dragging players for content, then acts shocked when people question the sudden concern. Spare me the performance.
@CHGO_Bears This is why guys like Joe Thuney matter beyond the box score. Veteran, leader, elite player, and still volunteering for the dirty work. That’s culture.
@MyDinnerWAndrei@sourc70591@DaBearsclips Exactly. That’s a full-team failure.
Offense stalls, defense can’t get stops, coaching doesn’t adjust. Love gets his share of the blame, but nobody gets to hide from a 28-6 second-half differential.
Chicago leads the NFL in total yards, rushing yards and time of possession.
But over the last three games, the Bears have scored just 4 TDs on 15 red-zone trips.
Moving the ball hasn’t been the problem. Finishing drives has.
Against Green Bay, that may be the difference between controlling the game and letting them hang around.
@DieHard_Chicago I’m out on this price. Carter is still a very good player, but his pass-rush production has trended down since his rookie year and he just became the highest-paid IDL in football.
Giving up a 1st, 2nd and Stevenson while also taking on that contract is way too rich for me.
The numbers are impressive, but the opponent list is what makes them matter. Wilson, Smith and Addison aren’t rookie-friendly assignments.
Small sample, sure. But if Muhammad keeps holding up in man coverage like this, Chicago may have found another legitimate piece in the secondary.
Good news on Kyle Monangai.
Ben Johnson says the thumb injury is “not an issue.”
He’s feeling the effects of 30 carries against the Jets, so they may manage him a little in practice, but the thumb itself doesn’t sound like something that’ll keep him out of Green Bay.
That’s a big exhale.
The Bears being 2-0 without Caleb Williams is obviously encouraging.
But the bigger thing is how normal it has looked.
No panic. No identity crisis. No offense completely falling apart because QB1 is out.
That says a lot about Ben Johnson, the staff and how much better the roster around the QB has become. 🐻⬇️
