@alleria_eh lol. They’re fully funded (more than ever actually) and HNIC is gone anyway. The CBC doesn’t need funding, it’s needs performance, the kind they’d be forced to produce without tax payers footing the bill.
@CarloColaiacovo Is it me or is Chayka making the Leafs weird? I mean, they’ve been embarrassing, infuriating, fun, bad, even good at times, but weird is new territory.
@SamAMcKee I think I agree but one thing is bugging me. Why do this big scour the earth interview process to hire a guy the organization already knows. Nothing against JH but, I’m supposed to believe he blew everyone else away in the interviews? I dunno.
@stephen_taylor The business model is to pay exorbitant bonuses with tax dollars regardless of performance. They don’t need to produce anything under those conditions.
@brianlilley It’s for the children Brian, think of the children. How many will be saved…from critical thinking. We all know that’s a gateway to conservativism.
@wyshynski@SamAMcKee The fan base wants a winner and failing that, accountability. Mitch delivered neither. And Sammy is exactly right, there was a legion of writers gleefully ready to bury the fan base if Vegas won. So yes many of us are happy we don’t have to deal with that.
@KatlynHarrison@ryangerritsen The only thing carney is consistent on is net zero. He said himself the “policy makers” (government) had to drive the net zero agenda, so he set himself up so that he can play both sides. He’s gonna make a fortune. He gets annoyed even talking about anything else.
@sarobertson_ To..1% of trade. Brookfield announced a massive European renewables joint venture last week (including France) nice that the big guy could be there for it.
@KatlynHarrison@JasminLaine_ Mark Carney has never held a position on something that he didn’t like…and then not like…and then like again…really, it depends on who’s listening or sometimes not listening. It doesn’t really matter as long as Net Zero is getting done and Brookfield is getting rich.
@FoodProfessor Past performance is the best predictor of future performance. This government has not implemented any program that’s running as they said it would. All over budget, all underperforming. This will be the same.
@MarkJCarney This is like treating cancer with more cancer. Your out of control spending is the cause of the inflation that devalues our dollar and causes the cost of living crisis. Meanwhile you and your cronies make millions.
According to Canada’s Food Price Report 2026, a family of four is projected to spend $17,572 on food this year.
The Prime Minister’s Office might want to include a few people who can actually do food math before making affordability announcements.
