"The excuse for those tariffs shifts every day. The only constant in this unjustified and unjustifiable trade war seems to be President Trump's talks of annexing our country through economic coercion," says Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly on ongoing Canada-U.S. trade war.
Canada and the Netherlands have shared a great friendship for 80 years, since the liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian soldiers in 1945. And Ottawa, the home of the Canadian Tulip Festival, and the birthplace of Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet, has been an important part of that relationship. It was a pleasure to welcome Her Excellency Margriet Vonno, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to City Hall. With all that's happening in the world right now, it's an opportune time to showcase that real friends treat each other with respect and gratitude.

#Saskatchewan cannot continue to deny basic diplomatic and economic concepts. We cannot continue to refuse to use our strongest bargaining chips while continuing to take hit after hit from a belligerent American regime.

#Sask need not suffer if it decides to demonstrate real leadership by backing export tariffs on potash. The Americans need our potash. Demand for it is what economists call “inelastic”, meaning they’ll keep buying it at any price, in this case even in the long-run.

Morgan Harris’s daughters and family have changed history. They would not back down when they were told no, that authorities would not search for their mother’s remains in the landfill.
Now, their mother is going home to them. It was a battle that played out publicly in front of Canada and the world. The genocide of our women and girls displayed in the most degrading and horrible way. But these daughters stood tall, the warrior blood in their veins carried them through to fight for justice. It took over two years. But, it’s proven our women matter. We are valuable and worth finding. Worth fighting for.
I am so proud of these girls. Here is a montage of some of the events of the past couple of years featuring Cambria Harris, Elle Harris and Melissa Robinson.
