Finally done with the shelling step for the castor. From 3.9 Kg of pods, I recovered 3.6 Kg of seeds. Next step is pressing the oil out. It’s gonna be a lot of oil!

I’ve noticed this carry over into not wanting to try new things if there’s a chance I’ll fail at them. In HS I did all sorts of things, largely with success. Now I have this subconscious fear and there’s nothing to justify it. I’m going to have to re-teach myself how to think.

As I approach graduation, I’m noticing more and more the effect college has had on my thinking. While a lot has improved, one thing I hate is that I feel fear when making educated guesses. Before, I could imagine the solution to a question freely. Now I’m scared of being wrong.
