I conceptualize what this nation could have been by this date; 2022AD. I look at it now and I say there must a be a curse. Forty years after the last Oil crisis and if someone shut off the gas; half of the nation would starve within a month.

The Democrats are bad. Statists and Corporatists masquerading as Progressives. However remember the Republican Party sold you out to China. The Republican Party worsened and exploited problems in Latin America. They did nothing to protect US borders; 9/11 happened under Bush.
