Beavers second week of working towards their Green Blue Peter Badge and they produced these two amazing pieces of recycled group artwork! Watch Blue Peter on Thursdays at 5 - 6pm (or catch up on iPlayer) to see if our efforts get chosen to feature on the show!π€
This week our Beavers & Cubs practiced their firelighting skills and their efforts were rewarded with toasting marshmallows and making them into delicious s'mores! ππ₯
Last Tuesday, in their first evening section night back, our Scouts went on a back to basics adventure. Half of them built some great shelters βΊοΈ, and the other half built their own fires π₯ (not easy in the rain, but we had some success!).
A truly noble day for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts as we celebrated the St George's Day weekend. We honed our jousting skills, completed a rigorous obstacle course, slayed a dragon and created our own coat of arms. All with courage and bravery behind us.
All our members had an awesome time
hunting for Easter eggs over the past couple of days. π£ It's great to be back outdoors again and working together, which is what we do best as Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. π₯³ We can't wait to do more and more as we are able to. π§
Our Beavers and Cubs had an amazing time find out about birds of prey from @joesbows tonight. π¦ π¦
We got to see a falcon, an owl and a hawk. We found out about what they eat and how they talk. Plus, we got lots of our questions answered!
Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all had amazing first nights back face-to-face. After months of Zoom calls, it felt brilliant to be back to some real practical activities.
We were super impressed by everyone's fire lighting. It's a skill that really will stay with them for life.
We're super excited that our safety measures have been assessed and we've been approved to run face-to-face activities for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts!
Our young people will have the opportunity to safely enjoy outdoor activities facilitated by our incredible volunteer team. π
"This year... I can celebrate the incredible Camp at Home..., the delicious cakes and sandwiches we made over video call, the selfless fundraisers we have amongst us, and the brilliant inventions our Beavers and Cubs came up with."

@scoutadelic π Our young people are trained to the very highest standard in campfire safety. They know NEVER to go near a campfire without a marshmallow and two chocolate biscuits! π€
39 of our members woke up record breakers this morning as they slept away from their bed as part of #CampAtHome. βΊ
As well as setting up tents, dens and fake campfires, we hosted a virtual campfire with games and songs. π₯ Many had camp snacks like s'mores and camp donuts! π€€
All our young people had an amazing time joining our latest virtual meeting from their #CampAtHome. Some great camping set-ups βΊ, fake campfires π₯ and homemade camp snacks π‘.
Badges galore: our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts continue to learn valuable skills for life from home to earn some badges. π₯³ Some great meals prepared and clean houses as a result! π
Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts had great fun this week on our virtual meetings (even if some of them don't look like it at the moment this photo was taken!).
Just because we're #stayhome doesn't mean we can't keep Scouting!
We had a night full of skills tonight - Beavers going over their navigation basics π and Cubs brushing up on their knots β° (becoming cowboys π€ in the progress!).
