"So everyone should get up off the couch & start cranking out 2-3hrs a day?"
No. You build up to it. Slowly. 🐢
The blueprint:
- 3 months averaging 1 hr/d (any mode/any intensity)
- 3 months averaging 1.5 hrs/d(any mode/any intensity)
- 3 months averaging 2 hrs/d (any mode/any intensity)
*Recovery*...
- 3 months averaging 1hrs/d (any mode/intensity)
Continue the pattern each year until you run out of time (or energy)....
Speaking generally, in endurance training, it takes your body ~3 months to fully habituate to a given load.

The Cateran Trail from Enochdhu to Spittal of Glenshee - simply amazing riding. So nice to be back in the @CateranEco - picking up the new cycling leaflet with an adventure. There’s been a lot happening this year, but mapping routes here was my one of my highlights. #gravel
