A passenger aboard the Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Lagos has now given her account of what happened during the flight, offering a different perspective on the incident.

Earlier reports had suggested that a passenger attempted to open the aircraft’s emergency exit door mid-flight, causing alarm among those on board.

Kenya Airways has since issued an official statement, saying a passenger became unresponsive about 20 minutes before landing. The crew administered first aid, but the passenger was later confirmed dead by medical personnel after the aircraft landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

KQ says it is supporting the family and coordinating with local authorities and aviation regulators.
