@BethMooreLPM Beth, I've lived in Iowa my whole life, and I couldn't be more disappointed in the caucus result. I went from Republican to independent ages ago, but the last 8 years have destroyed the party all at the hands of one man. I don't understand how this is the best they can do.
The list of things I donโt know is unending. But this one thing I do: entrust your life into the hands of Christ and he will be faithful to you. Though at times it will seem thereโs no direction at allโno meaning, no feeling, no leadership nor lightโput one foot in front of the other and walk by faith.
โYou are with me, Jesus. You will keep me. My hope is in you. I will trust your words.โ
Donโt put a timer on your trust. No โIโm giving you till January.โ Just keep going. And Jesus will take you places by those ruptured roads, dry riverbeds and empty hollows youโll live to say you wouldnโt have wanted to miss for the world.
This wonder, this miracle, this mystery of belief in this Lord weโve never seen and yet are summoned to know is that, if weโll trust him the merest whit and walk by faith that his words are true, weโll realize in retrospect it was him all along we followed in the hollow precisely where he wanted us to go. The holy hollow.
Anywhere with Jesus is a place worth going.
@bethallisonbarr Beautiful! Beth, I'm halfway through MBW and wondering if there is a Bible translation that you can recommend. I've been misled for 67 years and just want to follow what Jesus really meant to say. Afraid I'm a little late to the party.
Obeying Scripture. Do you have a recommendation that you trust? Thank you for your work and for making it understandable. It feels a little late to be figuring this out now.
@BethMooreLPM So many questions. What version do you use for memorization? What is your system for review? I might memorize new verses, but I will lose what I have learned without review.
If itโs clear and you well know it, do the right thing quickly. Iโve found that, the longer I wait, the cloudier the situation gets, the more the rationalizations to do otherwise mount and the less the Holy Spirit fills me. I donโt know if Iโm right about this but, it seems to me, with the conviction of the Spirit come the courage and unction and fruit of the Spirit. If we keep resisting, they wane because the Spirit quenches. It wonโt likely get easier to do what is right in that situation. Make haste to obey the Lord. If what is right is unclear, seek counsel from wise and godly people. Let us not call it waiting on the Lord when it is the Lord who is waiting on us.
