You don't have to wait until you've already been assaulted before you can take a defensive position. You can place your hand on your fire arm in preparation to being assaulted. If Chud called Fox a bunch of slurs and then Fox punched em he probably wouldn't get self defense on grounds that he provoked the situation. They talk about this in the video. His online content could be used to bias the jury towards conviction.

Karmelo was a minor carrying a weapon in a place he shouldn't have been who stabbed another child for pushing him. He also fled and hid the weapon. Plus their was provocation involved.

They are currently deciding what evidence will be permitted in the trial. There is no dismantling of his self defense claim yet because there is no jury.

Imo I believe you are referring to the idea that Chud took a bladed stance prior to the altercation. This is actually legal in Tennessee under certain conditions.

Attacking an armed person already elevates the situation to life threatening bc the attacker can take his gun if incapacitated.
