@roddreher I'd prefer he simply call them out for it, rather than suggest remedies himself. But there's no question that their pernicious bias causes them to abandon their duty to broadcast such a speech. It's journalistic malpractice to decline to do that.
@JoelWebbon As a Christian, I find this repulsive. The clear, antisemitic tell is the cheap mockery of warping Jordan Peterson's name into what the writer thinks is a Jewish-sounding name. Reminiscent of trite anti-Jewish taunts down through the ages. Hope others reject this outright.
@JoelWBerry Agreed. It's not a contradiction to guard our sovereignty as a nation, strictly enforce our borders, without devolving into something that curdles our souls-- i.e., giving any importance to ethnicity or race ideology.
@burgwx Nooo, please! We should have Standard Time permanently. It's the most natural, and eliminates those interminable long dark winter mornings which are so mood-depressing.
@collinsworth55 Standard, by far. I wake up early, hate those long, dark mornings. By evening, most people are indoors eating dinner etc., and an extended daylight at end of day does not have the oppressive effect on mood as morning darkness does.
@theblaze Wow, there it is. She had to throw in their sanctifying buzz-word, "democracy" to stop anyone looking closely at what they want to pull off. But their determination to be able cheat comes right through.
@varadmehta Yay, American resolve. Marco is always pitch perfect- firm, grounded in principle, eminently reasonable. Some goofy global kangaroo "court" doesn't stand a chance.
@ConceptualJames This is horrible. Inconceivable seemingly just a short time ago. How far Toronto has fallen. That a creep can target people out of his twisted, antisemitic ideology. The police should have sent him and his stupid little signs packing.
@RBMD1982 Wow, I couldn't have a more opposite reaction. I used to have such respect for the seemingly sturdy people of Maine. This whole squalid Platner fever dream of theirs, now that it has broken, leaves nothing but dismay and distaste for Democrats.
@adamscochran@shennabellows@electionsjoe Good grief, is this what the left has come to in Maine? Is there really a cult there that would be so microscopically concerned about "policy that is too sympathetic"-- to one of our staunchest allies in the Middle East? Glad I'm not a Democrat or "Democrat/Socialist".
@Victorshi2020 What a downer. Their vision of America is so sanitized, with only "approved" images, like those of Obama marching into the 'fundamentally transformed' U.S. of his vision. What about the left's speech codes, their condoning of political violence, their hatred of normies...
@theepori_mathai As a dual citizen, raised in Ontario, the one thing I loathed among *some* fellow Canadians was the strain of smug anti-Americanism. Unfortunately Trump's reckless words have sent that into overdrive. Hatred for the U.S. is utterly against Canadians' best interests.
@Mr_Landru Agreed, Shatner is really, really good. Maybe also the greatest "ironist". And the most durably chipper attitude over time. But greatest of all time, wouldn't that have to include Christopher Plummer, William Hutt....
@DSA_Watch I'm no longer surprised at the sheer audacity and arrogance of such persons-- the key question for me is now, would such an individual actually have a chance in that Colorado district? Heaven help us if so.
@EndWokeness This person has seemed entirely and off-puttingly synthetic throughout her sojourn on the political stage. Astonishing that droves ( apparently) turned out to vote for such a cypher. What has happened to the Virginia electorate.
