@addis5@turnipdodger @Dublinnewsguy @1_sophrosyne 2/2 There is a distinct possibility that there will be an increase in UK defense spending and free from EU competition rules, the government can ensure that future work will go to UK firms.
@addis5@turnipdodger @Dublinnewsguy @1_sophrosyne Well I have a Bsc in Aeronautical Engineering and worked in the defence side of Aviation for the first part of my career.
I have not worked in construction, but I have had houses extended, re-roofed and re-wired and the contractors kept me informed about the regualtions.
@addis5@turnipdodger @Dublinnewsguy @1_sophrosyne The Civil Aviation authority oversees Aviation and there are many industry regulators for contstruction, covering planning, structural integrity, insulation, roofing, electrics, plumbing, gas etc.
Yes we do have the regulatory bodies.
@turnipdodger @Dublinnewsguy @1_sophrosyne @addis5 This government has to leave the EU, it was given a democratic mandate to leave the EU. The fact that EU membership goes deeper than trade is exactly why we are leaving. If we leave without a deal, initially there will be disruption, but it wont be catastrophic.
@1_sophrosyne @addis5@turnipdodger Businesses on both side want a deal, of course.
If this were just about trade, it would have happened by now. But it's is the EU politicians who are pushing a Federalist agenda that are trying to entrap the UK, by way of discouraging other EU members from leaving.
@carolJhedges@turnipdodger@RichardBentall The Mutant Stain are the liberal elite who feather their comfortable nests, whilst throwing the working classes to global competition.
