Si un universitario negro de dieciocho años hubiera sido apuñalado por un blanco con una hoja de 21 centímetros y después inmovilizado y esposado por la policía, tras creer la versión del agresor, que intentó presentarse como víctima acusándole falsamente de racismo mientras sus amigos lo encubrían, ahora mismo tendríamos portadas internacionales, políticos arrodillándose ante las cámaras, futbolistas lanzando discursos prefabricados y empresas multimillonarias fingiendo conciencia social durante una semana.

Pero la víctima no era negra. Era Harry Nowak.

Y quizá por eso su muerte no servía para movilizar masas, llenar titulares ni explotar políticamente el dolor para ganar los mismos votos.
