🏈 MONDAY FOOTBALL RECAP 🏈

Another weekend of football in the books, and there is A LOT to unpack.

Week 2 College first…

- Texas was down 20 points to #1 Ohio State and somehow came all the way back to win 24-23. Not only did Arch Manning just add a pretty big chapter to the family football history, but Steve Sarkisian also won what might have been the highest-pressure game in his time at Texas
- Oklahoma State might have pulled off the shocker of the weekend. Coming off a loss to Tulsa, the Cowboys turned around and beat #6 Oregon 39-31 as 23.5-point underdogs. All of a sudden, Oregon’s season is at stake, and they haven’t started their Big Ten schedule.
- Michigan followed up last week’s absolutely ridiculous ending against Western Michigan by knocking off #11 Oklahoma 17-10. All I can say is if you like good quarterback play… this game was not for you
- Alabama finally won a game under Kalen DeBoer after trailing at halftime. The Tide Defense had an elite game, with the offense exploding in the second half to outscore the Wildcats 32-0. This team is showing some serious progress in Kalen DeBoer’s third year, especially when it comes to running the football.

Then Sunday arrived…

- The Bears continued to look like one of the NFL’s most promising young teams and dropped 59 POINTS on Carolina. Chicago and Carolina combined for 96 points — the highest-scoring season opener in NFL history.
- Trevor Lawrence and the Jags looked as sharp as ever in a dominant win over the Browns. With 250 Yards and 4 touchdowns on only 22 attempts, I would keep an eye out for TLAW to win MVP this season.
- Josh Allen did Josh Allen things: 334 passing yards, 4 total TDs, and a late game-winning drive as Buffalo beat Houston 36-31.
- Ravens open in dominating fashion after a rocky season throughout the year last season. Ravens offense could not be stopped as Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson combined for 530 total yards ands 5 total touchdowns proving they might be the most exciting RB/QB Duo in NFL history
- A revamped and newly led New York Giants shocked Dallas 28-20 in John Harbaugh’s debut. This young Giants team showed some promise in their home opener. New York fans, you have something to be excited about here.

We still have Broncos-Chiefs tonight, but after two weeks of college football and the first NFL Sunday… It’s very safe to say football season is officially in full swing.

My biggest takeaways.

- Texas is VERY real.
- Oklahoma State might have arrived.
- Alabama has a championship-caliber defense
- TLaw and the Jags look like a serious Super Bowl contender
- The Ravens and Giants both look to be the biggest off-season winners after Week 1

What is your biggest takeaway/hot take from the weekend?

Grateful to experience 21 years on this planet. God is Good, America’s in good hands, and in three months, there’s going to be 10 opportunities for the Dutchmen to run to the fight.
