@BandQ is your timber saw ever actually open at Hermiston Gait? I’ve made a 40 minute round trip 4 times in the last fortnight and it’s been open only once. Absolute joke of a service. Sign on it saying closed for the next hour but ample staff walking about.

@bandq_help Yet you don’t post phone numbers for your stores online, at least not easily. Surely you need more staff trained? I’ve now wasted a bunch of fuel numerous times for a service you supposedly offer but only seems available once every 17 weeks for five minutes a time!

@f_woollard @makesmilk @stellacreasy I do recognise the issue of constituents going unrepresented, and perhaps that needs looked at in terms of how we ensure they are represented during maternity. I would support removing any and all barriers to allowing new mothers to be MPs, but bringing a baby isn’t the solution.

@f_woollard @makesmilk @stellacreasy But if maternity leave was offered what makes MPs any different? What about those that work and don’t want to miss out on key projects because of the development it would give them, as an example. There is a reason children are not allowed to attend workplaces.

@makesmilk @stellacreasy Though I am supportive of a mothers plight, I do also recognise that at three months old, this is well beyond the 6 weeks statutory leave most women in the UK receive before going onto the tippence offered by the government…I don’t think that helps the optics

The issue isn’t about taking your baby to work, frankly, there aren’t many jobs in the land that would enable you to do that. The issue is about a fair maternity leave process that allows your constituents to be represented in the interim.
