59 Productions has been officially re-named 59 Studio, a reflection of our focus on the specialised design and creative services of our in-house studio team: skilled, interdisciplinary artists, designers, animators, architects, writers, directors, producers and technologists.
After several months of curatorial development, script writing and design work, the piece was put together in the show space at @_LightRoomLDN , with the component parts layered together during extensive technical rehearsals.

Our new show VOGUE: Inventing the Runway opened this week! Working alongside Vogue and their archives of both the magazine and the fashion houses, 59’s team wove together a visual story that traces the evolution of the fashion show from its earliest days right up to present.
We brought our spatial design expertise to The Pit Wall to evoke a fully immersive experience. To achieve this, we projected archival footage across multi-layered surfaces, using a mix of rear projection and Gauze panels to surround the audience.

For our video design for Revolution by Design, we created a sequence of animated graphics to support the story of the objects found in this room. The sole purpose was to explain these complicated innovations in a universal way that could be understood by existing and new F1 fans.
We designed two rooms for the @F1Exhibition
now open at @ExCeLLondon
- Revolution by Design, a space that explores some of the groundbreaking revolutions in F1.
- The Pit Wall, the final lap of the exhibition where audiences find themselves track-side.
Not too long ago, our co-founder @markgrimmer gave a TED Talk in Vancouver. Mark reflected on both his and 59's story and how we're always striving to create hybrid forms of storytelling.

"The show involved making projection-mapped elements on the big inflatable structures in the middle of the stadium, running all the content on the LED screens, running the materials on the audience pixels, but also making direct to broadcast, full-frame content."
There had to be a sense of clarity that we maintained throughout everything we did.
"Anywhere that we found a gap or there seemed to be a dramaturgical opportunity, we just grabbed it. It was about finding the storytelling opportunities that we could grab hold of."
