@Keir_Starmer@wesstreeting my sister is having chemotherapy at present ; the unit has only 2 Cold Cap machines left that support women keeping their hair ; patients deserve better , the staff claim there is no money to buy more - they cost £16k . #breastcancercare

My daughter is a 17 yr old waitress in a restaurant ( while doing A Levels) and there isn’t a shift goes by when a male says something inappropriate, touches her or comments on something physical , this isn’t ok men . Her male boss said to expect it !!
@HMIProbation@jimbrownblog Sadly the community PPs once again being overlooked who manage the men in the AP. 15 residents at the AP and whilst I’m delighted the AP is outstanding you cannot compare managing the size of the workloads in the community, unfair conclusions !!
@shirlgarrett@Napotheunion Are people struggling financially and not wanting to lose pay while striking or fearful of returning to work after it for taking a stand !! ?? Sad times !!
@jimbrownblog I’ve lost count how many times I’ve fed, clothed, listened and shopped for the people we work with - stand proud & we need to keep probations real values . I won’t change !!
The probation service affects everyone and if it isn't stable and functioning then public protection is put at risk. Probation staff deserve a pay rise #RespectProbationPayProbation

My sister has found an engagement ring in the bathroom at Newcastle Airport - handed it in. I really hope the person this belongs to gets this back !!
@taniabassett@Napotheunion Sadly it’s not just about pay , we’ve lost our identity and cannot practice safely due to quantity of the work effecting quality . We need a recovery plan after all the failed HMIP inspections or we lose more staff
@HMIProbation What next for HMPPS ? What can the Probation Service do to recover ? Why would staff stay in the profession? That’s my reflections right now - I’m 25 years in the job and sad to see where it is now .
@JamesTCobbler Without accommodation to resettle into and support we cannot rehabilitate & keep people engaged in desistance or the public safe . Resources are needed for all community safety agencies and Probation & prison needs to retain experienced staff
@JamesTCobbler@hmpps Retaining staff that work for HMPPS should be the key goal right now . Without holding on to the experience, we create an unsafe , inexperienced workforce , it takes more than a training programme to have the skill set in this field
