A snow ball fight is a great way to get to know everyone. Write something on a sheet of paper unique about yourself, wad the paper up. When teacher says go everyone tosses the snowballs. Find a snowball and see if you can guess who wrote it.

Q1Classroom contracts are a great way to start the year, let everyone participate in the rule making. Be sure everyone signs the contract to take ownership.

Classroom procedures and expectations are a must that first week of school. It can set the tone for the entire year. (sharpening pencils, restroom breaks, lining up, getting materials, answering questions, etc.)

A3: I have been calling parents weekly, sometimes twice a week. All of them have been picking up the packets so I have checked to see how it is going and if there is anything I can help with.
