Andy Burnham is now taking a few questions, albeit in highly controlled circumstances. He’s coming across as a bit Forrest Gump: well-meaning, naïve, uninformed.
So let’s get real. Here’s a proper question about a huge issue.
There are almost 11m people of working age in the UK who are economically inactive.
Yet Skills England reports that construction is short of 1m workers to meet the current infrastructure and housing targets — and that’s before you include Mr Burnham’s plans for a massive council house building programme.
It’s a clear sign of a labour market — skills shortage AND huge inactive labour pool — not functioning properly.
It needs to be put right before we have any chance of decent growth.
So, Mr Burnham, what would you do to put it right?

You forgot to declare it. You forgot until it mattered. Until you made him Chair of the Independent Football Regulator. Three breaches of the Governance Code. Sir William Shawcross confirmed your corruption. You apologized. Starmer accepted your "unknowing" error. You knew. You always know.

You called yourself a Zionist. February 2020. At the Labour Friends of Israel hustings. "I am a Zionist." You said it proudly. You were Chair of Labour Friends of Palestine. You took money from the Israel lobby. £52,000. You sold the Palestinians. You sold your principles. You sold everything.

You signed the Labour Campaign for Trans Rights pledge. You called Woman's Place UK a "trans-exclusionist hate group." You wanted them expelled. You wanted feminists purged. Then came the prison question. The 2020 hustings. Should violent male rapists who transition serve sentences in women's prisons? Your answer: "I believe that trans women are women... they should serve that sentence in the prison that is appropriate for the gender that they identify with."

Rapists in women's prisons. You said it. You meant it. JK Rowling named you. "One of the biggest reasons many women on the Left no longer trust Labour." You endangered women. You dismissed biology. You sacrificed safety for ideology. You have never retracted it. You have never apologized.

You took clothing loans from luxury PR firms. The 223 Agency. Free dresses. Free suits. Then you told the BBC you "never" accept free clothing. You lied. You always lie.

You quit X in July 2026. You and your entire department. You called it "abuse and misinformation." You called it protecting democracy. You ran. You censored yourself. You couldn't handle the criticism. The Culture Secretary who cannot handle culture. The Media Secretary who abandoned media. The coward's exit.

You called Reform "fascist." Behind closed doors. At Political Cabinet. Then you ran from the platform where they could answer. You smear and you flee. You slander and you hide.

You backed Owen Smith against Corbyn. The soft left. The opportunist. The wind vane. You attack Wes Streeting. You attack your own. You have no loyalty. You have no principles. You have only position. Only advancement. Only Lisa.

You are not a leader. You are a liability. You are not the future of Labour. You are its contradiction. The Zionist chair of Palestine Friends. The feminist who houses rapists with women. The transparency advocate with the secret think tank. The ethics minister with the undeclared donations.

Don't understand

1- our private schools were something the country was once very proud of and they were a huge global business

2- most private schools are small and rural and only just surviving

3 Most families at such private schools are also only just surviving and aren't "wealthy" . Just ordinary hard working Brits going without to give their kids choice.

4- these small private schools have a huge % of kids with SEN needs . Taking mass burden off the state .

5- a good government would make private schooling CHEAPER so MORE could choose. That's what a good Government would do .

A private school closes in Durham which means we have to find emergency places for kids. Labour will be happy as their ideological crusade against private schools is working. They couldn’t care less about the kids impacted.

Remember this is not providing more revenue for our economy. No extra teachers in the public sector, (in fact less), with now more kids to teach as children are forced out of their schools, away from their friends, and jobs lost. Private schools like small businesses (also closing at an alarming rate) pay taxes on profit, reduce numbers in public schools (giving more resources for those there) and again … provide jobs, where those employed also pay their taxes not take welfare. Politics of greed & envy are truly vile but also destructive to our economic health over all. But this is also hypocritical as universities selling their wears to more foreign students than British these days do not pay vat!
