@1JoshBurwick@OngDevLab It is, yes. Japanese consumers consider purchases 'holistically' - they pay for trust and maximum information. Westerners tend to focus on a key visual or CTA, which is why we get a headache trying to figure out where to look on this page.
@zariasol@votefloridaman@EndWokeness I think we are just disagreeing on semantics. Not all advantages are privileges, and I think it is a stretch to claim that speaking the native-language of a country is a privilege rather than merely an (albeit useful) advantage. Enjoy your day!
@zariasol@votefloridaman@EndWokeness It's illogical if taken to it's conclusion. I'm an immigrant in Japan. I learned Japanese, but I was not disadvantaged before knowing the native language as I had no a priori "right" to the benefits of the local people. Otherwise, we need to call intelligent people privileged.
@zariasol@votefloridaman@EndWokeness It's the creep that is worrying. Yes, white. Yes, male. But when you start adding acquired characteristics then it brings the risk of discouraging others such as work ethic, intelligence, kindness.
@zariasol@votefloridaman@EndWokeness It still seems like an illogical list. What is supposed to be the opposite of "privilege"? Because of A I am privileged, but because of B I am disadvantaged?
@respawnedtarga1 It's not the conviction rate or the punishment. People here don't want to steal stuff. They also don't want to act tough or write graffiti. Those things are really uncool here.
@samyakjain092@merycodes Yep. I sometimes visit freelance websites where you can see what the client wants, and then I build it. Not for the client, just for practice.
The goal is to prevent yourself from staying within your comfort zone.
@samyakjain092@merycodes But I also think it's not so bad to start with a Todo list for each new tech. It's a nice way to get the basics and learn pros and cons of the framework/language.
