We went to the Central Library today! We had a tour, learned how to search for books, and then checked them out for our non-fiction research projects! @HRCE_NS @hfxpublib @ChebuctoH

Thank you to Brigitta Zao and @artgalleryns for this amazing art workshop! The grade fives did a session called “The Magic of Paper Dye” where they learned different folding and dying techniques to create beautiful patterns! @hrce_ns @chebucto_heights

Today we had @CleanFoundation come and do a hydroponic garden workshop with us! The grade fives got to test the water, build the lamp and then pick the seeds for our garden! @ChebuctoH @HRCE_NS

Family Literacy day was such a success at @ChebuctoH! Students had the chance to read with family members and younger buddies. Then they had an afternoon of literacy rotations in different classrooms📚@HRCE_NS

The grade fives had a great afternoon learning all about @bloxels! We connected it to our fictional writing unit, as the students created characters, a setting and a problem and solution! Thanks for coming in @ChrisCocek

We had our first writing café of the year! Students shared their writing while enjoying some yummy snacks. They each received their own editing pen for our next writing unit! @ChebuctoH

Today we made a weather instrument by coding our Micro:bits to be thermometers! The grade fives tested them in different environments to see how the temperature would change! @ChebuctoH @microbit_edu @TILTHRCE
