Everything would’ve been fine if Bear hadn’t made that wish and had just manned up enough to confess his feelings.
the wish only exposed what was already there… a coward and a loser
Bear couldn’t accept that Nikki had the right to choose someone else. Instead of respecting her feelings, he valued being loved more than her freedom.
That’s what makes the show so unsettling.
#OBSESSION
hoje meu vô (homofóbico) falou que as mulheres estão mais que certa de ficar com outras mulheres porque os homens hoje em dia tão tudo matando as mulheres
Went into Obsession with high expectations after all the hype and those Nikki clips… somehow it still exceeded them 😱
A genuinely original, relentlessly tense thriller, but the real star is Inde Navarrette. The hype is 100% deserved, she absolutely owns every scene she’s in.

This scene still gives me chills.
The worst part isn’t that Bear made the wish, it’s that he kept choosing it. Even after calling customer service and hearing the real Nikki begging and screaming for help, he just hung up and walked away. That moment says more about his obsession than anything else in the film. 💔📞 #obsession
Unsettling facts about Curry Barker's #Obsessionmovie
• The phone number on the One Wish Willow box actually works in real life and plays a creepy message from the director.
• The director intentionally designed Nikki's forced obsession to mirror a twisted Hansel & Gretel dynamic since she viewed Bear "like a brother."
• Nikki’s nightmare-fuel facial contortions were done 100% naturally with zero digital mapping or CGI.
• The director originally planned a brutal Romeo & Juliet ending where Nikki died too, but his dad convinced him to let her live.
• The movie originally opened with Bear finding his dead cat foaming at the mouth, but it was cut to give the audience breathing room.
• The iconic duck tape wall wasn't taped to the room, the crew built it as a single, massive removable sheet to swap between takes.
obsession was really terrifying bc one man became infatuated with the idea of a woman for years and feels entitled to her and makes a wish that she'll fall in love with him more than anyone else in the entire world
and when his wish comes true he doesn't care that she's not in control of herself while they're together and that it was not consensual. he wanted her to be devoted to him so she could cater to his unfulfilled needs until she became inconvenient.
when she becomes "too much" he wishes for her to be normal and genuinely believes he's the victim in a situation he created.
this movie has me thinking about the larger societal framing of how people view women who are emotionally reactive as dangerous and uncredible, when in reality, they are trying to deal with the trauma of being put in harmful and violent situations by predatory and abusive men.
so you're telling me that taylor swift, who once was on the cover of times magazine as one of the women who broke the silence and launched the #metoo movement, invited a wife beater and abuser to her wedding???
In the ending of Obsession, both Bear and Nikki smile because, for a brief moment, both of their wishes are fulfilled.
Bear's original wish was for Nikki to love him more than anyone else in the world. Throughout the film, that wish becomes a horrifying curse.
At the end, Nikki makes her own wish using another One Wish Willow, for Bear to love her with the same intensity.
When Bear walks out and embraces Nikki, they finally share genuine mutual obsession. For that single moment:
Bear gets the love he always wanted.
Nikki gets Bear's love in return.
That's why they both smile. It's the only instant in the entire film where both of their desires are simultaneously fulfilled.
Obsession really is the perfect horror film
Men: "what if your girlfriend was insane?"
Women: "what if you were forced to be kind to a man you didnt like?"
I completely understand where you’re coming from, but for a lot of gamers physical discs are the only way they could afford to play games because they could get them secondhand. You can also give games to your younger siblings Which is a great way to introduce them to the games you were playing.
Most importantly though, as we saw from PlayStation this past week, if the media we buy is only digital, it can be taken away from us at a moment’s notice with no recourse. Imagine that, one day your entire library of games could be deleted overnight because technically you don’t own it.
Before House of the Dragon Season 3 begins, remember what Rhaenyra endured.
Alicent forced her to walk moments after giving birth just to inspect her newborn. Otto hid Viserys' death while the Greens crowned Aegon and stole her throne. The shock and grief drove her into a traumatic miscarriage. Then Aemond killed her son because he thought he could control the largest war dragon in the world.
And people still ask why Rhaenyra chose war. #HouseOfTheDragon
Fun fact (or rather, a depressing one):
Have you ever realized how deeply rooted misogyny is in our everyday slang?
When you want to insult a woman, you call her a bitch. But when a man does something terrible and you want to insult him, you call him a son of a bitch.
Think about it. Even when a man is the one who screwed up, the insult is STILL directed at a woman (his mother). A man can't even take full accountability for being a terrible person without society somehow finding a way to blame a woman for it. it's always women taking the hit, even in language meant to target men. It's a constant loop of holding women responsible for men's bad behavior. Make it make sense.
i truly understand why a specific demographic hates these movies
one is about an illegal alien ruining the plans of a billionaire to colonize and wipe out another country
and the other is about a woman bringing down a child trafficking ring & sliming out pedo's
cristiano ronaldo admitted that he raped a woman and is getting cheered for at the world cup while connor mcgregor was on jimmy fallon after he raped a woman so violently she needed to get her tampon surgically removed. and people will still say rape allegations ruin men’s lives
