@dg115511@fragmentshore I remember from the time that many stats were heavily inflated.
For example, the official stat of 90+% vaccination rate on the government dashboard was just calculated from total jabs distributed (double counting boosters) divided by the eligible population.
@GreeneMan6@NomosEvents "where are OUR ... tours"
You stressed the "our" too. What's that supposed to be referring to if not a collective that includes yourself?
You could have used other words to exclude yourself from that collective or just focus on the individual but you did not.
@SkepticalWaves@PoThePerson Oh yeah BLM and COVID, the famous organic and not online Men Vs Women battles.
Women hate men because COVID. Men hate women because Floyd.
What you are describing is female nature being exploited by power (Po's insidious group) for it's own ends, causing division.
@PoThePerson So many low IQ replies that don't understand the post.
Even the "selection bias" replies are largely cop outs copying from your own post without suggesting which irl selections show this behaviour.
All these men/women doing this and that fad and its only ever online or TV
@MillennialWoes@Aris_Utensil In this analogy, trying to convince people to go back to Amazon, by advertising your product being sold there, is what you are doing.
@MillennialWoes@Aris_Utensil I think that's a good example. Amazon isn't what it was, and most of the people I know don't really use it anymore anyway, just as election turnout is down because both services now provide only cheap tat.
@MetaBritain@Lowlife_Hat "X is useless and a waste of resource that diminishes the ability to do Y and Z when they are framed by X, we should instead be focusing on the actually useful Y and Z and step over X"
"So what should we do? Because I do X, Y, and Z, so don't say Y and Z!"
@NomosEvents We must remember that the geography of a set of north Atlantic islands is actually entirely a civic construct.
500 years ago, each country was actually separated and attached to various points around Western Europe and Scandinavia, before being sailed into today's formation.
@NomosEvents Funny that typos were a sign of scam emails as the scammers used them for this same reason.
Surely only a matter of time before the ai slop farms catch on.
@grousecobba@ShadowbanSlam@NomosEvents AI has done no such thing in the real world either.
Maybe your twitter is full of ai accounts no one else listens to but in the real world, AI, going up and down businesses, is just that thing that helps write corporate emails.
For people in knowledge professions it's just Google
@MrSonicAdvance@grousecobba@MillennialWoes This is all a joke, right?
"His problem is he's not on heckin based social media as much as me! Clearly he's too book smart for the real world of twitter!"
@prahaparappa@MillennialWoes There's an irony to you turning round to call the person behind you, who's trying to tell you your wheel isn't real, a "backseat driver".
"At least I'm doing something to stop us going toward that cliff!"
@Skiddybopbopbay@AkkadSecretary The options presented here to those without a home are renting for 30 years, or buying a house and selling after 30 years at an adjusted loss of a few%
Think about it and tell me which sounds the worse investment for a kid today.
Not to mention the non-economic value of the asset
@Skiddybopbopbay@AkkadSecretary If house prices do that, they outpace wages and affordability and he'll never have one. Even if he gets one, the gaps between price tiers will increase beyond affordability and he'll unable to move up.
The only people it benefits are a parasites and downsizing boomers.
@Semiogogue Ultimately, no matter the current laws, the needed tools will be where they are needed when the right wave comes to be ridden. The same organised will that allows their successful use is what brings them.
Material resource is easier to move around than spirit.
@Semiogogue This reminds me a bit of nuclear doctrine.
A weapon you decide can only be used once can never really be used.
When the wave that needs riding comes, you will be looking past it for a bigger wave.
This, along with lack of will and organisation, are why Americans are allowed guns.
@TheBlackHorse65 Much civil infrastructure hasn't been significant built on since the post war period and what remains isn't being well maintained either. That, plus an increase in demand from a larger population, puts us in this fragile situation.
@ShadowbanSlam@NomosEvents All it has done outside of a few niches is realise the dream of ask Jeeves. It provides nothing more than Google, nerdy kids learnt from YouTube videos well over a decade ago.
The revolution was over before you knew it, welcome to the underwhelming reality of centralisation.
