@farmingandJesus I like having this app because it has this "translation" on there. Just like the New World Translation or Mormon materials, I like to know what is in them, especially if I don't have to pay for them. I get why people would avoid this though. No judgment from me.
@BasedMikeLee I know Michael Jordan. He is 5'3" 135 lbs, blond hair, and pasty white skin (always prone to sunburn). Obviously a different guy from the pro basketball player. The same goes for LDS Jesus and the Jesus of the Bible. LDS Jesus is a different Jesus.
@Max_TO@farmingandJesus 4. Jesus would come from Israel and be the one who rules. Yes Mary gave birth to Jesus, but she doesn't match the symbols given in the sign in the sky, for the clothing with sun, moon under foot, and crown of stars were present before the birth of the Son.
@Max_TO@farmingandJesus 3. They symbolic use of a woman clothed with the sun, moon under her feet, 12 stars crowned on her head is a symbolic image paired with the image of a dragon sweeping stars out of the sky. This imagery likely is referring to the history of Israel and Satan's opposition.
@Max_TO@farmingandJesus 2. She cried out in birth pains which contradicts Romanist teaching that she did not suffer the pains of childbirth to being sinless.
@Max_TO@farmingandJesus 1.
The text doesn't indicate the woman in the vision is Mary. Mary was never clothed with the sun or had the moon under her feet, nor did she wear a crown of stars.
@farmingandJesus@Max_TO The issue with this is that Jesus was King from eternity past (Samuel 8:7, Isaiah 33:22). Unlike the mother of Solomon, Jesus and His reign predate the birth of His own mother. Mary is not queen of anything. Jesus is King of all things.
@TimMcGovern18@farmingandJesus You can pay them to have mass said for the dead, meaning, they mi ght mention their name for their intentions as a footnote to the mass.
@jiuseppistrong@sola_chad You have to take the entire narrative into consideration, not just verse 22. James knows that it is faith that saves (v14), it is a matter of what kind of faith that saves. Faith that doesn't produce actions such as clothing the nakedness and feeding the poor is dead faith.
@jiuseppistrong@sola_chad James 2 presupposes salvation by faith alone. James is arguing for faith that is lived out through works. Faith=Salvation+Works not Faith+Works =Salvation.
@PeterRudoy73971@ion_eyes It is very different. Regular means of communication with loved ones is different than communicating with the souls of the physically dead. The latter assumes the recipient has characteristics of deity; omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. Prayer is worship, only for God.
@DrFrankTurek No. The shroud doesn't match the biblical description and Rome has no credibility due to being notorious for fabricating relics, even well detailed relics.
@hectorsantana_8@farmingandJesus The prophets of the OT wrote Scripture by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Jews collected, copied, and stored them in the temple.
2 Peter 1:21 ESV
[21] For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
@NightwatchN8 They have gone loud and proud lately. Between their increasing social media presence and the Dunning Kruger influenced laity, they are making their presence known. So much so I am speaking on it to our youth group this Sunday so they don't get deceived.
