Victor Munoz underwent his Liverpool medical on Wednesday and will now sign a six-year deal to become the first signing of the Andoni Iraola era at £34.5m.
Newcastle, Leverkusen, Manchester United and Real Madrid were all also interested. Full story ⬇️

This is perfect for Wirtz & Isak. Having another explosive winger on the other side like Diomande will draw compact defending sides wider and create so much chaos & space. Creates oppertunities for individual quality to be more prominent instead of patterned attacking play.
Víctor Muñoz is not the youngest player in Spain's squad, but he has far less experience than Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí and Gavi.
After spending time at La Masia and La Fábrica, Muñoz joined Osasuna for €5 million at the start of the season and earned a World Cup call-up to the European Champions after his maiden campaign in senior football. That demands attention.
In Muñoz, they have added a serious speedster that can deputise as a Roadrunner on either flank to help protect the first-choice duo from the gruelling heat and extra games. In this sample of Wide Attackers from the 2025/26 season, Muñoz scores highest for both the Carrying Progression - Nico ranks second - and Pressure Progression Performance Indices, created using @SkillCorner Data.
Given a chance, his speed and directness will turn more heads and give Newcastle plenty of competition for his signature.
🚨💣 EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool are set to sign Víctor Muñoz with HIJACK done, HERE WE GO! 🔴🇪🇸
Newcastle in advanced talks for days but #LFC enter the deal, verbally agree terms with Muñoz and activate €40m release clause.
All set to be signed and another big surpise. 🧨
It feels like I’m the only person with this opinion, but I want him moved on. Other than a few clutch goals here and there, he offers fuck all. Don’t care about “rhythm”. He’s an unc and doesn’t really deserve to be playing more games than he has.
🆕 Federico Chiesa is determined to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place under Andoni Iraola.
Chiesa has NO plans to return to Serie A despite interest from Juventus and Como.
Chiesa sees Iraola's arrival as a fresh start and believes the new Liverpool manager's style of play suits his strengths - @_Morik92_
@Mamuniho I think Gakpo stinking the place out influenced his camp/agent to stir things up. And to some extent I understand them. But they need to look at Sterling’s trajectory. A young player needs time.
@redraaj77 Everything about his game this year was bad. Talked about conceding from setpieces all season, didn’t change a thing. With 2 of the most aerial dominant CB’s in the league. In possession: no clue. Out of possession: no clue. I agree on Klopp, I’m not a fan of everyone talking..
I've also read that Iraola has his team do man-to-man presses. Something I've really missed with all this zonal marking malarky. Fucking stick to your man and snap him in half if you have to.
@Tim41909343064 I've realised I'm an emotional person. Despite having big responsibilities, being immersed into LFC can really impact my mood lol. Detaching myself from results would also ruin the enjoyment, so it's a tough call
I used to move heaven and earth in order to watch Liverpool matches. I'd take time off work or passed up meeting up with friends.
This year really took a toll on me, and I was no longer arsed. I forwarded chunks of games whenever we went 0-1 down, knowing we'd lose anyway.
@Tim41909343064 Definitely. My priorities have changed with 2 kids and a busy life. But my love for football/LFC won't fade, it's just easier to fuck it off and spend time elsewhere when it's not rewarding to watch the games
@arghappy Think it's both. We're getting older and our priorities change. It's easier to focus on more important stuff if the football is shit. But having a shit manager didn't make it easier.
