Way back in 2004, my brother Aaron @hiyadya and I played a cover set as Bro-Pal. We've toyed with making music and including our other brothers @findammon @shumway20 ever since.

We're honored that our first release is part of such an awesome comp. We can't wait to share it!

FTR our name when we were going to play ska was either going to be 530 Getup (From Healthy Body by Op Ivy) or Maine (inside joke after throwing out Knee Brass Ska and A-La-Ska as intentionally bad state teamed ska names).

@ForgetTheWorld @popmortem @indefenseofska @jeffbakalar @GuiltySkankin We started as a ska band, but by the time we started recording music in a studio and playing shows we had jettisoned our early (and kind of embarrassing TBH) ska songs.

Electronic Waste is out now and was released today in honor of George's Mom Marjory, who would have been 74. She was always a huge supporter of FSD (she was also in a band in the '70s) and would have loved the album and that we finally recorded her favorite song Gummy Bears.

@gimetzco David Lynch usually finds his movies in the edit bay. I know he wasn't totally happy with the experience or the final cut of the movie, but it seems like the theatrical cut is much closer to his wishes than any extended version he had no direct involvement in.

The original line-up played on this, including James Holland (the SPs), Christopher Royal King (ex-This Will Destroy You), Jordan Johns (ex-Sound Team), and George. It was mixed with help from Jon Tyler Starr (ex-Antifreeze) and mastered by Justin Perkins (ex-Screeching Weasel).

And the new recording of a song we wrote when I was 20 but never recorded finally did get recorded for the first time when I was 42.

It's also on the collection but it's being released as a single on 1-2-1-2-3 (because punk rock).

In a very odd coincidence, as we were winding down, our guitar player Christopher Royal King also joined a pop punk band who was called... Second String. The last line-up of that band would break up and re-form a couple of times before changing gears and becoming @_TWDY_

I find it hilarious and kind of cool that we were the second of either 5 or 6 bands to use the name Five State Drive.

It's part of Electronic Waste, a collection of everything we did after our debut album. It drops 1/31, which would have been my mom's 74th birthday. She loved our music and Gummy Bears was her favorite song. Even after we stopped she still asked when we were going to record it.
