@CoachFelecia They will not be held to the same standards. Private sectors homeschooling included has it's benefits but do not offer the same level of education. This could be good or bad but that is for the parent to judge. If they feel their child is receiving a valid education it's a choice
What happens to.our children when they are constantly being told white children won't get arrested when a black or Latino person will. Now my white child thinks they can simply get away with crimes. These words are dangerous. #blm#woke#WhiteSupremacy#white privilege
The truth is our society has gone soft because our traumatizing youth was not the way to raise children. Well, guess what. This is not working either. Holding their hands, cottling them, making excuses is creating children with no independent method of dealing with their problems
@_BarringtonII Sounds right! I am so tired of being shamed for not actively being upset over a problem that 1 doesn't directly involve me 2 I can't do anything about and 3 is a problem from both parties. We have enough stress I don't need more.
@heymrsbond Promoting kindness and love of everyone and creating spaces for children being treated with respect is how we are going to fix this mess. Teaching anf pushing on them the microagression, hate and struggles they will face will only cause them to search for those things.
What the heck is this crap? My daughter is in her 2nd year of college and is majoring in Social Studies. This wad the correct answer about if a child takes their clothes off and runs into a crowd. Can anyone explain? #newrules#kidsneedboundaries#CollegeStudent
Force me to use a curriculum that stinks. Then tell me I can't use or do anything but that curriculum when it's not working but expect the scores and engagement to be there. Quit trying to tell us how to do our jobs. We have degrees for a let us be. #curriculum#teacherlife
@heymrsbond It's trickling down. They are trying to get middle school students to do work way above their heads and it is just not working. Grades and scores are down and so is engagement
@theDRAMAgoat1 If the struggle is that real why are you still doing this job. I get it teaching is hard. Mental health is important but we are approximatly 9 weeks into school. Maybe rethinking how we do the job is needed
@mrmatheson24@edtechmathteach Standards based leaves a ton of room for teachers opinion. I was told during training that it removes this but I absolutely disagree
@DUKE_content@HannahFrankman It absolutely is. I have seen kids gain grade levels of reading skills in one year when me and the parents teamed up to get it done.
@DUKE_content@HannahFrankman I struggle with kids getting good grades and my parents message me and asks what they can do to increase their scores. Turn in work, pay attention in class, study for the tests, make corrections when available. But they don't and so the cycle continues.
@JoeyMannarinoUS My good friend just spent 2 and a half years without his fiance and child because the process took that long for her to gain a fiance visa. But still they made it work and did it the right way. Frustrated with the system sure it is not perfect and covid messed up more.
@MarshDuxfemina@JayWamsted What I assign for homework is not busy work. I feel my students need practice and their test scores are proving it. 5-10 problems at home simply allows them a little extra practice when they get home as to make sure they were engaged in class. Plus it teaches responsibility.
@soupcanarchist@TweetsByBritt I am an educator and I feel most of the anxiety, adhd, and out of control behavior in the classroom comes from not having enough physical activity. Teenagers are complaining about working 10-20 hrs a week at a job while going to school when I was mad when I got less than 30.
@jeffmcdougall @Khalia09 @MarcusLuther6 Also if a child is getting anxious about the homework the parents might want to think about their outward reactions to their child. In today's world of tech it should also be available for them to complete some of the work or all if they are well enough.
@jeffmcdougall @Khalia09 @MarcusLuther6 This does change the math though. 4 classes per day means 2 hours of homework a night tops if they are following the 30 min rule. This is saying every class gives homework everyday which they do not.
