@cynsmith613 What works for me is to hold my hands palm up and ask God to carry the burden overnight knowing I will pick it up again the next day. The physical act of opening my hands up, helps my brain release my problem. Hope you try it.
@AngryCitizenxx Try framing your thoughts in positive not negative words. You’re not stupid, a loser or whatever else you’re calling your behavior. You’re not a bad person only a sick one trying to get better.
@callher_yan Well done. The next year is always the hardest whether it’s the second year or the 36th. One day at a time and the days, years add up. I still can’t believe I have 35 years when I thought I’d be good by 2 years. 🤣This is a lifelong disease - cunning, baffling, powerful.
Jesus’ action in the #GospelOfTheDay (Mt 14:13-21) teaches us that nothing is discarded when it is shared. Hoarding and waste, however, are two sides of the same evil: greed. So, in the face of an opulence that reeks of decay, we find the outstretched hands of those who have no nourishment, the burned homes of those who have no peace.
It is a broken presidency when behavior like this is normalized.
It is a broken Christianity that supports a behavior like this being normalized.
It is fascism when behavior like this is normalized.
Please pray for my community here in Idaho, especially Twin Falls and the families of those who were killed and injured in the mass shooting.
Please speak out for common sense gun reform so that we don’t have to keep living through perpetual gun violence like this.
Beware of any Christian movement that demands the government be an instrument of God's wrath but never a source of God's mercy, generosity, or compassion.
“And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you" (Mt 6:5).
Mi parte favorita de la biblia es cuando Jesús, en vez de decirle a las mujeres como vestirse, le dice a los hombres que se arranquen sus ojos y corten las manos si no son capaces de controlarse
One of the most successful deceptions of our time was getting many Christians to fear diversity more than racism, equality more than misogyny, democracy more than fascism, immigrants more than authoritarians, the poor more than corrupt billionaires and empathy more than cruelty.
Notice how it's always "America was founded on Christian principles!" until it comes to welcoming the immigrant, helping the poor, feeding the hungry, bringing healthcare to the sick, forgiving debts, caring for our planet, laying down our swords, or loving our neighbors.
“They should have just complied!”
They did and they got killed anyway.
“They should have just obeyed the law.”
They were and they got killed anyway.
“They should have come here legally!”
They did and they got killed anyway.
