Mechanical load builds tissue. Neural load builds movements. If you spend too much time in one or the other, you’ll move efficiently w no armor to protect you… or have a bunch of armor and move like a 2x4
Narrow rib cage athletes struggle to hinge. If you have a frame like this and cue a lot of hinging in loading phase, that may be an inefficient mvmt for that athlete
Here’s the breakdown:
IN SEASON TRAINING:
1. Maintain movement quality
2. Offset game workload
3. Train strength/power when appropriate.
OFF SEASON TRAINNG
1. Build strength/power
2. Make any needed mechanical changes
3. Build throwing/swinging capacity
