Great week in Women’s Health @UHDResearch Recruited our 1000th participant to SMA NBS study @OxUniStrong, restarted @CaPE_trial for women at risk of pre-eclampsia after a short pause and were the first department to recruit to PANDOS study @ESAIC_org@UHD_NHS @NIHRCRNWessex
@UHD_NHS Maternity Research have recruited the 500th participant to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy study on the feasibility of screening for this with standard Day 5 newborn blood spot tests

We often introduce rules to “improve” safety and care pathways in health. But please think about the unintended consequences of the ever increasing directives. Educate don’t regulate. Trust clinicians and a little discretion is good for care.
