The alarm goes off at 4 AM. He doesn’t slam it shut. He lets it ring for just a few seconds; his wife lies, breathing softly beside him. He rises slowly in the dark and walks across the house. His clothes had been nearly laid out the night before – the khakis, the belt, the shoes, the cap and the badge. He bathes in the dark, dresses in the dark, and gets ready to head out.
Before he leaves, he does something he has never spoken about to anyone. He stands in the hallway for a moment, just a moment, and listens to the sounds of his house. The hum of the refrigerator. His daughter turning in her sleep. His wife's quiet exhale.
Then he picks up the thing that might get him killed today and walks out the door to protect people who will never know his name.
This is not a story about a hero. Heroes are exceptional. This is a story about a Monday.
We have a word for those who run towards the danger everybody else runs away from. We call them brave. We call them heroes. We call them saviours. But then, we forget about those very heroes till they do something to make us angry. The police officer occupies a unique position in our cultural pantheon. Simultaneously being the arbiter of the order we so take for granted and a villain, demonised for doing what he is lionised for. He is the person we call when the worst is happening and the person we protest against when the worst has happened. He is, quite literally, the devil we created and then simply forgot to have sympathy for.
I am going to try.
Not because they are beyond reproach. Not because they cannot or should not be criticised. Not because they are perfect – far from it. But because we as a society seem to have lost sight of the man in the uniform. The human being who kissed the forehead of his daughter at 5 in the morning, stepping out into the city, not knowing the horrors the day might bring; not knowing whether he gets to hear his daughter’s voice in the evening.
He didn’t make the law he enforces. He didn’t craft the system he works under. He didn’t write the policy that sends him to handle a violent mob, underpaid, understaffed and pathetically under-equipped, with no guarantee that the politicians would give him the orders to defend himself, and if they do, they would stand by him when a thankless city blames him for their own evil. He didn’t force the society to watch from a distance as he charges to absorb the violence it unleashed, and then stand at a distance and turn on him as he does so. What he did was sign up to not only absorb the violence society unleashes against its own, but also do so for a salary that would embarrass the risk the job comes with.
My respect for this brave officer. Nothing but respect.
When the pages of history and the present-day government records are both shouting the same truth, then why is there a conspiracy to change that truth?
This is the reality of Kheda village in Ataroli, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The place that the Hindu community has regarded for centuries as “Meera Baba Ka Math”, where Hindu traditions such as children’s mundan ceremonies and post-wedding rituals have been performed for generations… is now allegedly being deliberately turned into a mazar and dargah!
Here are some clear and direct questions that every Sanatani should ask:
If this is a dargah, then why does the board of the government police outpost at the site say “Meera Baba Ka Math”?
If this is a dargah, then why is “Meera Baba Ka Math” clearly written on the main entrance gate?
Old photographs and the testimony of village elders continue to say that this is our historic math. So how can it suddenly be declared a dargah with the backing of the Waqf and certain land mafias?
This game of encroachment and religious transformation can no longer be tolerated. Government records and the ground reality are witnesses that this place is a sacred math of Sanatan Dharma and will always remain so.
The Hindu community is now awake and fully united to protect its historic math! ✊🚩

"If you're 40 and have never invested, take ₹10 out of your ₹100 FD and put it in a good fund. Worst case, it falls 50% and you lose ₹5, but the interest on the other ₹90 still brings you back to about ₹100 by year end."
"If that worst case plays out in year one, the years after tend to be much better. Then raise ₹10 to ₹30 and take it to 50:50 over 3-5 years, one step at a time, like walking through a minefield."
"So the biggest mistake at 35-40 is FOMO. You feel you've missed out, put everything in at the market peak, it falls 50%, and you stay scared of markets for life."

Captain Smit Machchhar.
A Ghatkopar boy.
A textile-engineering student who caught the flying bug at 19.
SpiceJet. Senior Commander. Line Training Captain. Then flydubai.
Nearly 9,750 flying hours. Around 6,400 hours as Pilot-in-Command. Mostly on the Boeing 737.
And then came 30 September 2026.
On flydubai FZ1073, Captain Smit was seriously wounded in the cockpit. The aircraft was losing altitude rapidly.
Bleeding and on the floor, he still managed to reach the cockpit-door mechanism and open it.
That one act allowed passengers and crew to enter, overpower the attacker and enabled the backup pilots to take control.
174 lives were saved.
A hero is not someone who never bleeds.
A hero is someone who, even while bleeding, remembers that 174 lives are depending on him.
Presence of mind. Courage. Duty.
Mumbai is proud. Gujarat is proud. India is proud.
Get well soon, Captain Smit Machchhar.
The skies are waiting for you again.

Every year I pay a lot of income tax, and GST. I have income, I will pay tax, that's fine.
When my money is used to subsidize a student (who is rich to own a phone costing Rs. 1.5L) i feel violated.
You take a loan
You can't pay the loan
You take drastic steps under pressure
Should the RBI governer or Finance minister resign
