G5 toys are ugly…but G3.5 wasn’t looking much better imo. They also have the cheap knock-off look, & I HATE how their mouths all look like they’re about to suck on a bottle. Also how the designs translated into any kind of media just made them look like googly eyed creatures

Ik there’s been a lot of talk about downgrades between mlp generations lately (often about G5) but how about we talk about how G4 absolutely butchered the adorable design that was G3s breezies 😭

In my opinion g3 has the best mlp toys. I love g4 but I do think it's lacking when it comes to the toy designs. The show style is nice and beloved to me but I don't think they translate as well as g3 ponies do. Also their poses are 10x cooler

it’s so sad how bad the toys of g5 were, like regardless if you loved/hated the gen, they deserved good toys as that’s literally what mlp was born from. Their toys were so cheap and clearly had so little thought or heart into them :( you can’t have my little pony without the TOYS
