One thing I wanted to do as a comic creator was to make a STRAIGHT ACTION comic series. That's what Subject Zero is. Kickstarter launches next month.

Never thought it was a good idea to point at what we aren't getting most of the time. If the goal was to get more black titles for people to read, why only focus on DC?
By doing that, you automatically create a false narrative that there aren't ANY black comics out there.
Why not start a ComicsSoBlack movement that focuses on other publishers who actually do what you want and give them love? There's more than DC could ever hope to bring out rn

watching how quickly the discussion about the dc blackout started centering non-black voices was honestly disappointing. despite it being cancelled i hope to see people continue to limit their financial support of dc and uplift black characters & creatives in comics.
regardless of the boycott’s official ending i will still continue to promote this list for the foreseeable future!
my boss is also setting up a dc power display in our store focusing on comics and graphic novels starring dc’s black heroes to encourage interest for new readers 🫶
Thank you to everyone. We apologize for the division we caused and for the disrespect to the comic creators who work their tails off in this industry #DCSoWhite
even if there’s no boycott anymore, support for black creatives and black stories is still the best way to ensure that black people (and other people of colour) still get the representation they (and we) are owed.
