This helped resolve the uncertainty about the flow regime in the wind tunnel experiment, showing that CFD isn't just a substitute for experiments, it can be used alongside them as a means of interpretation

Why CFD?
There are a ton of reasons, but one obvious advantage is flexibility; CFD can reduce cost and practical limits tied to physical experiments such as wind tunnel testing
But I came across another use that I found interesting: using CFD to interpret experimental results

It involves Wortmann airfoils, where wind tunnel experiments and CFD were used to obtain Cl and Cd plots
The results differed considerably under the supposed laminar flow conditions but showed much closer agreement in the turbulent regime
