BREAKING: Janelle Bynum is one of very few Democrats that unseated a seating Republican incumbent. This was her playbook. Make sure every American sees it.
I, like many of you, have been contemplating our predicament since election night.
We are in a losing war for our democracy and I'm not sure we collectively know who our true adversary is.
It's not the voting blocks...white women, Latinos, Gen X. It's not MAGA. It's not even Trump.
It's an insidious power that has been hiding in the shadows for some time...and when the stakes were at their highest in this election, it fully revealed itself.
The American Oligarchy.
They control our Supreme Court, much of Congress, and the flow of information to the masses via legacy, mainstream and social media.
They decide the national conversation, how to keep us at each other's throats while they continue to amass wealth and power completely unchecked.
They put their thumbs on the scale of justice and poured billions into this election. They chose Trump because he was desperate and would capitulate to their demands. They chose a running mate to replace him in case he became too unhinged to control.
Consider how many disqualifying facts about Trump never saw the light of day...or didn't get the attention they deserved...or got drowned out by propaganda. They took a mentally spent buffoon and presented him as a hero to the masses.
Despite Biden successfully steering us out of a global recession and strengthening our economy, they maintained the national tone about the price of groceries being too high. Despite Trump's obvious mental decline, their media outlets remained reticent to press the issue.
We struggle to unite as a nation because they're too good at keeping us divided. We are drowning in disinformation because they control all of it.
They have successfully created imaginary villains for us to fight...each other.
It seems like we are a democracy careening towards fascism, when the reality is they're using the specter of fascism to keep us on edge while they turn America into a compliant oligarchy.
Whether you are a democrat, republican, independent or MAGA, we have a common foe.
Some of us just don't know it yet.
It’s ok to just feel your feelings today—& for as long as you need
But when you are ready, here are 10 steps to protect our democracy from our Democracy Playbook

Coach Tim - thanks for apologizing for all the text messages!
I live in a very red area. There are some extremists. Hopefully, they are not the majority
It is a really jarring moment to be a historian. To know what might be coming is alarming. To realize that no one around you sees it or acknowledges it is a weird place to be in. Its like time traveling without time traveling. 1/8
The other day someone tweeted the male loneliness epidemic problem is a thing for men to solve, and the replies to this make that so clear. Women are not responsible for teaching men basic community shit when so many men clearly fucking hate us.
In retrospect, assuming the majority of Americans will step up to protect America from all her enemies, foreign and domestic, was a fatally dumb notion.
I don't fault anyone for suspecting the guy, who was criminally indicted for trying to steal the 2020 election, might have stolen the 2024 election.
You'd be naive not to suspect foul play.
He is the architect of distrust in our institutions, the sower of doubt in our election processes, the catalyst of our national discord.
Rather than spend endless hours pontificating on why he won, the media should spend their time verifying the results.
Maybe then they'll get people to actually tune in.
Yes. The Resistance will continue.
If however, you think it can just run as normal you are mistaken.
If you believe replying to Trump, MTG, MAGA and the like with angry, raging replies, then we cannot move forward.
As an account who helped start this movement, I hope you
To all the white women who voted for the dictator, I will not forget.
You can’t say that you didn’t know. You did.
Look in the mirror as your sister, daughter, granddaughter, friend is bleeding out, & acknowledge your part.
You both disgust & disappoint me.

Bill is exactly right.
There are plenty of micro-explanations and micro-excuses for what happened in the presidential election of 2024. And on the margins, any number of them—indeed, almost certainly, a combination of them—made the difference. But their impact was only on the margins. Don’t get me wrong—small margins and the factors that move them do matter, a lot, in elections—particularly in America in the 21st century. They deserve careful analysis, but only to a point.
For the bottom line is that these considerations are not what we must focus on first and foremost today. What deserves the lion’s share of our attention are the facts that a major political party could have even considered nominating Trump despite his manifest criminality, moral depravity, psychological derangement, and cognitive deficiencies and deterioration—and that nearly half the country would have voted for him no matter what he did or said and no matter whom he had run against. That was the ultimate problem in this election, and remains so.
We suffer from a deep sickness in our national polity. Far above all else, before it’s too late, thoughtful Americans of good faith must work together to confront, to better comprehend, and to ultimately address that grave and metastasizing ailment if our great experiment in self-governance is to survive. Scapegoating and blame-assigning about anything else serves no end but to diminish our chances of overcoming our profound national moral crisis.
i’m not gonna lie
i’m pretty fucking pissed off at the democrats right now
i’m angry that they didn’t listen to the people
i’m angry that they forced biden out in the middle of the campaign
i’m angry that trump was never held accountable
i’m angry that they’ve failed to protect women and marginalized groups
i have voted dem my whole life because they most closely aligned with my values not because i am loyal
if they no longer represent my values they no longer get my votes
@libbage55 Happy bday, Libby. They don't realize when women reach a certain age, they have zero focks to give. They also have no idea we hit that age earlier than later. We will take up space.
Whereas the % of voters that voted for him is conceptually problematic, the % of registered voters that didn't vote at all, is nothing short of astounding.
