something people on here need to learn is that not every post or piece of fanfiction has to be a vehicle for activism. Sometimes people just want to write/draw dark or silly things without adhering to any morally correct ideology, and that’s fine. It’s what art is about
People need to understand characters exist to be used, sexualized, objectified and treated however people want to.
They are quite literally intellectual property designed to fulfill whatever wish we want. They aren't real people.
If you engage in harassment you are not a good person, regardless of the reason, if you're sending death threats, doxxing, forming dog piles in discord groups, dropping google docs in hopes to cause harassment by labeling folks pedos or grooming over cartoons. Fuck you.
"Waa, ¿por qué los fandoms ya no son divertidos?"
Porque SIGUES controlando las teorías de la gente, TE BURLAS de los cosplayers, TE BURLAS de los shippers, te burlas de los artistas principiantes y simplemente te burlas de la gente por divertirse.
when i was a teen navigating the internet, i engaged with a lot of fanworks that were extremely graphic in nature, and not once did i interpret fictional content as endorsement of those acts irl. i don’t understand why that’s so difficult to grasp
harassment over fiction is crazy.
imagine you’re playing with dolls.
u make them kiss, fight, betray each other, whatever story u want.
and someone runs up, rips the doll out of ur hands, and hits YOU because the doll got hurt.
fictional character don't have rights, people do.
I saw a thread of guys talking about how 35 yr old women are upset that men their age want 18 yr olds. They attributed this to…. jealousy. No man, we aren’t jealous. It’s just WE’VE BEEN 18 yr old girls. We know how creepy and predatory it feels to have older men chasing us.
a lot of fandom discourse could be easily solved if you guys stop treating fictional characters like real people and real people like fictional characters. idk.
