Being an athlete means things wonât always go your wayâŠ
Didnât start? Ask what you need to improve.
Bad game? Make the correction.
Schedule falling apart? Adjust it early.
Made a mistake? Own the next rep.
You donât need everything to go right.
You need to get good at what to do next when it doesnât.
Average athletes bring energy when theyâre playing well.
Better athletes bring energy when the team is playing well.
Good athletes bring energy even when theyâre struggling.
Great athletes still raise the standard when theyâre tired, frustrated, on the bench, or getting none of the credit.
Most athletes wait for their turn to start learning.
Better athletes study the rep before theirs.
They hear the correction.âšWatch what broke down.âšSee what Coach wants changed.
Then they step in already one rep smarter.
Your rep starts before your name gets called.
Getting points taken off your homework because itâs turned in late is crazy to me.
âBut it's just a couple of points...it's no big deal."
Over a semester, a couple points here and couple oints there turns a 91% into an 89%. Or an 81% to 79%.
That's a full grade point less to calculate your GPA... A FULL POINT
Youâre better than that. Turn it in on time.
That doesnât mean ignoring what slipped.
Notice itâŠfix it.
But donât throw away the progress you already earned just because the week wasnât perfect.
Itâs Sunday night.
You remember the workout you missed.
The assignment you didnât finish.
The practice that went badly.
And your brain decidesâŠ
âI did nothing this week.â
If you're an athlete in high school...
Your GPA isn't just a number.
It's a resume.
Itâs proof you can handle the pressure before the scholarship.
Want to play at the next level?
Start showing it in the classroom.
Because classroom habits reflect locker room habits...commitment, dedication, the ability to make the tough decisions.
Youâve got this...
Parents donât always know how to say it. Athletes donât always want to hear it from their parents.
Thatâs where 6AM Practice comes in.
The bridge between a parentâs heart and an athleteâs brain.
You wouldnât wait until game day to ask Coach about a play you donât understand.
Donât wait until your grade becomes an eligibility problem to ask your teacher.
A grade that can put your eligibility at risk may start weeks before the grade ever drops.
It can start with one thing in class you didnât understandâŠ
And didnât ask about.
You wouldnât wait until game day to ask Coach about a play you donât understand.
Donât wait until your grade puts your eligibility at risk to ask your teacher.
