And with that, the great chapter of La Scaloneta concludes itself. People talk about 2008-2012 Pep's Barça, or Spain's Golden era in that same period, or many, many other teams in that era, and yes, they played the most beautiful football. But for me, I wouldn't trade this team for any other in the history of football.
There's something so unique and likable about these guys, how they play a combination of an extremely rough, badass, physical approach, with beautiful play when having the ball at their feet. It's just so satisfying to watch a team conduct themselves like that and win ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. So no one can really argue against them sportingly.
And to add to that, the fact that the glue and motivation of this team was their love for Messi, it made me fall in love with every player of this team. I have defended them in a lot of places. This is the type of team dynamics and stories you get to watch in animated movies. It was such a unique experience, tbh. Just the way, in the media, training sessions, and on the pitch, they used to show love to Messi and defend him, it was the sweetest and most badass thing. And the good part of it was that rival fans used to envy that so much.
I'd like to add that this team, for me, is the best international team since 1960s Brazil if you look at the accomplishments. What an absolute pleasure these 5 years have been. Thank you, Lionel Scaloni, and Vamos Argentina. 🇦🇷❤️
