A former SNP chief admits embezzling £400,000.
The SNP response?
Circle the wagons. Block scrutiny. Protect the party.
They don't deserve another day in government, never mind another term.
Prosecutors agreed to drop a series of allegations against Peter Murrell that would have heaped further embarrassment on Nicola Sturgeon in exchange for the former SNP chief executive’s guilty plea, it has emerged https://t.co/zHHmlx81vr
NEW: The SNP has written to the independent adviser on ministerial standards, Sir Laurie Magnus, asking for an urgent investigation into whether Douglas Alexander has broken the ministerial code
@AmazonUK customer service is appalling. It just reminds me why I stopped using the platform a few years ago, and why I won't use it again!

John Swinney is handling the Murrell affair very badly.
So badly, in fact, that we are left to conclude he opposes a new inquiry because he fears what it might find.
At some point, SNP people are going to start wondering if he is part of the problem…

Daniel Finkelstein is right. Nicola Sturgeon wants Scotland to believe that the politician who controlled the SNP, dominated Scottish politics and tolerated no dissent somehow knew nothing about what was happening inside her own party. Questions about the money were shut down. Critics were frozen out. Loyalists closed ranks. Now, after Peter Murrell’s conviction, she says she bears no responsibility. You cannot demand total control when things go well and plead ignorance when everything falls apart. Scots are no longer buying it.
@danielgoyal@safepassageint Nobody dismisses the need for humanity and empathy. However, this appointment cannot be seen as a positive step at this time...
@safepassageint This seems to be a very misguided appointment....
The strength and depth of feeling at present around Ms Sturgeon will do no good for your organisation!
@WingsScotland Given the depths of the fraudulent behaviour, the breadth of the lies, and the delay in the Murrell trial, can the recent election be voided, as the level of misrepresentation was epic!!!
@joannaccherry
Is Dorothy Bain protecting SNP by alleging that anyone commenting on the Murrell case will be in contempt of court??
SNP are now HIDING BEHIND THIS meanwhile the world and it's granny are all talking about it!
WTF IS GOING ON!!

Labour are right about this & before SNP supporters still in denial start attacking me for saying so just think what the SNP would be doing if this level of criminality and corruption had occurred in any other party. Oh and perhaps also remember it’s your money that was stolen!
🔴Ministers have been told by prosecutors to keep quiet about the details of the Peter Murrell scandal until sentencing, the Mail can reveal

This is a good comment on this article:-
"Douglas Chapman the SNP Treasurer resigns because Murrell
refused to let him see the SNP accounts.
The SNP Audit Committee resigned (3 of them) because Murrell
refused to let them see the SNP accounts.
The SNP auditors, Carmichael Johnston, withdraw their services.
The new Auditors, AMS, issued ‘qualified’ status because they, according to the accounts, couldn’t satisfy themselves with sufficient evidence.
The Chair of the SNP NEC berates NEC members for daring to raise their concerns about the lack of transparency and evidence of the
whereabouts of that £667k at the March 2021 meeting.
Yet Sturgeon and Swinney, plus Yousaf, saw nothing, heard nothing and did nothing"
@JohnSwinney Are you really telling us you had no idea what your boyhood bestie was up too?
