MILLIONS OF EXPIRED MEDICINES BURIED
WATCH: Senator Raffy Tulfo shows photos of expired medicines being buried, alleging that corrupt Department of Health (DOH) officials and personnel have been buying cheaper, near-expiry medicines from favored suppliers.
During a Senate finance committee hearing on the proposed 2027 DOH budget, newly appointed Health Secretary Edwin Mercado said expired medicine stocks reached 217 million in 2025.
He cited ongoing efforts to address the problem, including the strict implementation of the rule requiring medicines procured by the department to have at least an 18-month shelf life. | @eimorpsantos
Akin lang to ha, if there is a degrading thing this government can do to its people is to normalize ayuda/relief operations.
Akalain mo yun, all your life, you saved and prepared for your comfort only to be swept away by flood waters because of monsoon rains? Na pwede naman sana maiwasan kung maayos lang ang mga flood control projects na yan.
Kingina niyong mga kurakot.
