To celebrate National Reading Month workshop classes are taking turns visiting the library throughout the month. Some of our students had their turn to create black out poems and "get hooked on a book".
Last week, Language Artists created Informational Sketchnotes to synthesize their nonfiction reading and research.

Q.3 Reading/Writing Workshop is underway... Students reading independent books, reading classroom SCOPE magazines, listening to informational pieces related to their research topics, and a group of boys are working on an original Podcast called "Let's Talk Sports!" (coming soon!)
Student were introduced to the process of weathering during yesterday’s weathering walk. Today we determined what makes something physical weathering. Monday we will define what makes something chemical weathering.

Today the students learned about plate boundaries using graham crackers, frosting, and fruit roll ups. This lab was recorded for students that missed todays class by a group of willing young ladies!
