6th Graders spent our half day engaged in many teambuilding activities to drive home SEL skills we have practiced throughout the year: problem-solving, cooperation, perspective taking, living all the 8 Keys, and just plain ol’ having fun together! #hooverhawks

Room 211 and 212 spent Shared Reading and Writing time collaborating outside for “O” day. Students worked to read and annotate key details on our text about Energy and then had a lot of fun debating topics to kick off our last unit of writing! #hooverhawks

When 6th grade students move onto junior high, I always hope they find their niche and joy in something they love. I anxiously wait for the times they come back to visit to share that they have. This visit from the @D54Keller Chorus did just that for my teacher ❤️. #hooverhawks

These kids brought their A-game when pranking me today. Silent game, whoopee cushion, a hidden walkie talkie they’d beep throughout the day, and being frozen by the “magic xylophone” for all you Bluey lovers out there! Such a great class and a fun day back after break.

Writing was SO MUCH fun today when we brainstormed as a class the start of a parallel narrative. The laughter and creative energy was contagious! Gone are the days of “I don’t have anything to write about!” #hooverhawks #weare54

Check out these proud inventors! Students picked an invention/advancement from the Gupta Empire and created a #sharktank pitch to explain its benefits, purpose, materials, etc. So many went above and beyond, even making prototypes!
