Keith the Apocalypse Bringer is a three-year-old Anglo-Nubian goat in a field in Devon.

Keith should not be underestimated.

Keith has been systematically dismantling the ecosystem since approximately 7am, when he ate a bramble. This is significant because bramble is an invasive scrub species that outcompetes wildflowers, reduces biodiversity, and creates dense monoculture thicket that nothing else can use.

Keith ate it. Keith does this every day. Keith does not charge for this service.

8:15am - Keith ate a thistle. Thistles are also considered invasive scrub in managed pasture. Goldfinches eat thistle seeds, but Keith's grazing will ensure the pasture remains open enough for the ground-nesting birds that can't use dense scrub. Keith has not attended a conservation workshop. Keith arrived at this conclusion by being a goat.

9:00am - Keith dismantled a section of hedge. This was less helpful. Keith does not have a perfect record.

10:30am - Keith escaped the field. He was in the road for eleven minutes. He ate a neighbour's rose. This is not being counted in Keith's environmental impact assessment.

11:00am - Keith was returned to the field. Keith regarded the farmer with the specific expression of an animal that does not recognise the concept of property.

12:00pm - Keith ate more bramble. His digestive system: four stomachs, a rumen full of specialised microorganisms, the ability to extract nutrition from lignified plant matter that would defeat any other animal on this field, is converting scrub vegetation into milk with a fat content of approximately 4.5%. The milk will become cheese. The cheese will be sold at the farm shop. The farm shop is four miles away. The cheese food miles are: four.

3:00pm - Keith produced manure. The manure will grow the grass. The grass will grow the bramble. The bramble will be eaten by Keith.

This system has no inputs.

It has been running since goats were domesticated approximately ten thousand years ago.

Keith is not aware he is saving the planet.

Keith is thinking about whether the fence on the north side has a weak point.

It does. Keith found it at 4:45pm.

4 Months ago Stormzy couldn't walk with a brain injury. He'd been told he had to be put to sleep.

Probably the proudest day ever today to see what the team @wearehappydoggo have been working on and rolling out in stages. Apologies for the voice but I had to get out of my sick bed to come and see this…

🐕 The start of our government partnerships sterilizing dogs at scale. All around Samui for the next 3 weeks and the moving to rural Thailand.

✂️ I can explain the amount of planning that goes into this for training staff, licenses, permits and general logistics and safety planning etc.

🇹🇭 What I especially love is that apart from me it was 100% Thai staff and Thai community there today. This is how we will fix the problem. Locals bringing their dogs in.

🎯 The dog catching and darting team are my heroes. Getting those dogs in is exceptionally hard.

💵 There is absolutely no cost for the community. Many of these people are low income community who just can’t afford the care. Having their dogs sterilized is a game changer. For those who support us this is what we can do. 100s of puppies stopped today.

People who follow us @wearehappydoggo love the rescues and the retirement village and the food and the makeovers where dogs have comebacks. But this today is why we really do it. These mobile units will go on to save 1000s of lives this year working on a daily basis in rural Thailand. I’ll make sure even if we start on a local basis like this soon you’ll see this all over Thailand and the world. The dogs need this ❤️

Last week little Dolly Parton was alone on the streets and in big trouble with her health.

Today she has her Sunday best on. All her vitals improving. Eating lots and sleeping even more. ❤️

This local Wolfdog joined an Olympic ski event and triggered the finish-line camera. This is Nazgul. He snuck into a cross-country skiing sprint this morning and raced the homestretch with some competitors before being escorted home. 14/10 someone get him a medal

Dolly Parton has had a good day. Her body is now clean of all the ticks and fleas.

She’s been getting some drips and medicines to build her up. Her little body is exhausted but you can see hope returning to her little eyes ❤️

It’s hard to believe someone would dump their old and sick dog out onto the streets to fend for themselves but that’s what I found today. A lovely kind local lady had found this tiny little dog and asked us to help after being unable to find the owner.

She was tiny and shaking but it’s only when I got her in that j saw just how bad she was. She’s very old and her fur is pretty much all gone from the 1000s of ticks and fleas sucking her blood. She’s very sick and she also has a major leg trauma. Who knows how long the little girl has been out on the streets battling to stay alive.

Her nature is so nice and gentle and she loves human touch. I don’t know what Dolly Parton’s back story is but I do know her future will hopefully be very bright.

You can see from my hands on her head just how small she is. She’s all wrapped up after her bath and sleeping tight after a good meal and her full medical treatment will start tomorrow.

Come on Dolly you got this❤️
