@AfterLeWhistle Peter would’ve made a good GM in the 1990s. Nowadays, you pay players based on projection. If you’re waiting another year or two to sign Benson and Doan, those contracts are going to look completely different if they continue to progress as they project to
@AfterLeWhistle@MiMiV4682 I think you guys are just missing the point about what makes the Sabres team different from the rest of the NhL. The fact they can roll with four high skilled defenseman gives them such an advantage. And we’re trying to trade away a vital piece (23 yo) for a mid-30’s goalie?
@AfterLeWhistle Love Gio, but man do I disagree about Power. You guys are always preaching that defensemen take longer to develop. And he was unbelievable the last few months of the season and playoffs. For me, untouchable. That contract will look great in a few years.
@ByMHarrington I get the sense, from so many replies, the fans have pretty much given up. I know it’s been 14 years without the playoffs, but come on. It’s best of seven for a reason. You make your adjustments and play the next game. These players are also figuring things out.
@stoolpresidente As a Bills fans during that era, I can say now that that shit sticks with you forever. You make your peace with it but the glass is never quite half full any more. But as a sports fan, you always hope. Just….one….time….
@CMDeDominicis Just from the eye test alone, marked improvement over maybe the last month? And I feel like he’s looking for more offense lately so even better.
@ByMHarrington Not surprised as I assumed he was planning on bringing his own guys that he’s more familiar with. Never had this confirmed, but if Karmanos was still living in North Carolina, I can’t imagine that helped his case.
@PeteGuelli@BuffaloSabres This is a good first step. If we’re free to criticize at times we also need to acknowledge when a good thing happens. This is a good thing. Many thanks.
