Actually in October 2022, 2 weeks before the low, I screamed melt-up when everyone thought the end of the world was coming.
I’m not your homie.
What I am, though, is excited for your margin call.
@georgeofman Nazar is solid and can be part of future. But Hawks don’t seem to have brought in any elite players other than Bedard (and maybe Knight). And this is a sport where elite players show early. Ton riding on Frondell, Kantserov and 2026 pick. Tough place to be this far in of rebuild.
@dabearsblog Because tickets can be resold for multiples of face value, particularly this coming season with huge draws like Cowboys and Steelers coming to town. Go to a couple of games, sell the rest and you’re still making a profit on your season ticket outlay.
@lakeview487 People are pissed because we already lived through the hellscape that was 2013-19, for which we were “rewarded” with 1.5 seasons of semi-competitive teams. And an org that last tried to actually compete in 2006. So back to square one with an org that does half-measures best.
@JRFegan In all seriousness why isn’t CLE forfeiting? I thought MLB was following the NFL approach on this, which would mean forfeit under these circumstances.
@dabearsblog 2011 is the season I keep going back to - Bears were really had things going through that Chargers game where Jay got hurt. If he had stayed healthy very different trajectory. No Emery for one thing, not to mention that Johnny Knox wouldn’t have had his career ended by Hanie.
