When he project superiority and perfection, he is granted admiration and respect. When he reveal genuine human flaws and self-reflection, he is looked down upon. So he must shed his former self and give birth to a paragon—as retribution against those who despised the genuine.
People prefer to be lied to. They don’t respect humility; they prefer hearing a grand lie that makes them feel self-conscious—and, in return, grants you respect.
